Greenville High School is working to strengthen its PBIS program to reward students who have good attendance and exhibit positive behavior. PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports, and it is a research-based program designed to improve attendance and behavior by acknowledging students who do well. In December, GHS had its first PBIS celebration recognizing all high school students who had two or less absences and no discipline referrals for the entire semester. Over 75 students were able to attend the celebration! Students were given chips and a drink, and they were able to play games or watch a movie of their choice during the celebration. We had EIGHT students in the entire school with PERFECT ATTENDANCE for the first semester…these students were also rewarded with a $5 Subway gift card to enjoy lunch courtesy of the GHS PBIS Team. Great job students…keep up the good work!
